CRANBERRY NUT BREAD

2 ½ cups flour 
1 egg, beaten
1 cup sugar
1 orange-juice and grated rind
½ tsp salt
3 Tbsp melted shortening in cup– Add boiling water to make ¾ cup of liquid
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ cup walnuts
1 cup chopped cranberries  

Combine dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes.
