2 cups flour
Tbsp baking powder
1/3 cup sugar
tsp salt
cup or 4 Tbsp margarine
1 egg, beaten
cup milk

option: A.) Add cup raisins or chopped apricots, or choc. chips
option: B.) Add cup chopped cranberries plus zest of 1 orange, and replace cup milk with cup orange juice

Combine dry ingredients. Cut margarine into dry ingredients with knives. Add milk and egg and stir slowly just until mixture leaves side of bowl. Spoon dough or roll into 1 inch thickness and cut with 1&1/2 inch glass and place on greased & floured cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Freezes well; to unfreeze, cover frozen scones with paper towel and micro on high for 1 minute.
