Guestbook from the Tuck Inn Rockport MA

Welcome to Our Guestbook. We hope you enjoy what prior visitors had to say about their experience on Cape Ann & Rockport, MA, while staying with us at The Tuck Inn B&B!

Prior to our purchase of The Tuck Inn in 1991, whenever we traveled, we always made it a point to read any comments made in an inns’ guest book. We found some comments were absolutely hilarious and others were pretty sobering but many were informative and quite helpful to us during our stay.

Based on those vacations from our pre-innkeeping days, we decided to include individual Guest Books for each of our guest rooms as well. Since then, our guests have become amazingly prolific and creative in their writing abilities, and today most of the rooms are into the 3rd or 4th book per room. We’ve estimated that perhaps a third of our guests have decided to leave a message for us and for all our future guests as well, as of today we’ve calculated (we believe very conservatively), that we have now accumulated in excess of 6,000 guest book comments.

Over the years, our visitors have likewise appreciated the comments made regarding Cape Ann or Rockport, MA in our inn’s room books. This electronic guest book is a natural progression of these popular room books. For purposes of this website page, we’ve pared the number of comments included here to around 300. We trust you will find these to be equally as interesting and helpful to you as they have been to us. Enjoy!

Now sit back and have a good read!

Scott and Liz:

We cannot say enough great things about our stay at the Tuck Inn! From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out we were treated like family. We met some very nice people and had many great conversations and laughs while enjoying your decadent baked goods that you made fresh each morning! We will be seeing you again, but it is not soon enough! Thank you Liz and Scott and staff.

Scott and Liz:

Thank you so much Scott and Liz! Our stay was fantastic! The room was gorgeous, the breakfast delicious, and the Inn is wonderful. But the best part was meeting some awesome people. Your warm hospitality was what made our stay one of the best weekends we ever had.

Liz and Scott,

We visited the Tuck Inn on Thanksgiving Week 2014. Since our return from Massachusetts, we have daily discussions about how wonderful our trip was, the beautiful sights we discovered and the hospitality we found in New England. Your hospitality, however, was unmatched. We were only able to stay for one night in the Inn but it was one of our favorite parts of the trip! Of course, the breakfast is one aspect of the trip we must tell everyone about. In fact, our little girl, Adaleigh, turns four this week and I (Crystal) am attempting to make the blueberry lemon scones for her little tea party. We hope that we will be able to return to Rockport and stay at the Tuck Inn again and soon!

Thank you!

Crystal and Derek, 12/2014

Dear Liz and Scott - We wanted to let you know what a wonderful few days we had at your Inn. Tonight we finished the last two pieces of Zucchini Bread that you gave us in our Goody Bag. Well to be honest, I , Fran finished the last two!! David is very good to avoid sugar :). It was so nice to keep the relaxing feeling of your Inn, while sipping my tea this evening.

Wishing you both a great weekend. Thank you!!!!

All the best,

Good Morning Liz and Scott - Priscilla (Pris) and I want to thank you both for a most enjoyable stay. Liz, you are a font of information about Rockport and thanks for your help selecting a truly memorable restaurant for dinner. Calling to see if "the chef" was in went beyond the call of duty!!! You made us feel at home and part of your extended family.

Scott - it was a genuine pleasure meeting and speaking with you. Thanks for coffee ready at a very early hour. Thank you especially for your help with directions to Logan (it went like clockwork - compliments to you and the State of Massachusetts for very clear signage). Even more so, THANK YOU for sending us off with a delicious selection of your culinary talent!! We consumed the last delicious morsel this morning and hummed!!!!!

Our genuine thanks to two incredible hosts for a delightful and most memorable stay.

Kind Regards, Pris and Bruce, 8/2014

Dear Liz and Scott- Thank you, thank you, thank you for opening your home to us!!! The spotless accommodations, beautifully decorated rooms and delicious assortment of muffins and breads were outstanding! We can't remember such a warm and cozy atmosphere while traveling! A true home away from home. You are lovely people who offer friendship and a smile to all who pass your way. Can't wait to come back - this time Scott - we will set the alarm to help bake in the morning!!!!!

A little note from Paris to tell you that we had a wonderful trip on the east coast. What warm welcomes we had everywhere, but yours was the VERY best. Still dreaming of the homey Artist's room, it felt like our own little home. Everything was so clean and cozy. The hospitality was unbeatable. It is obvious how much you love your work and the entire scene in The Tuck Inn reflects that- the clean bedding and rooms, the tasteful, authentic decorations, spacious rooms to relax in, Scott's amazing cooking and the warmth from the ladies! What a crew!! Looking forward to the return. Thank you Scott, Liz, Beth and our Little Margie.

Our visit was the best of any B&B we have stayed. Liz and Scott are the perfect hosts and the inn is just fabulous! The breakfasts are amazing! Having vacationed in Rockport as a child, I decided to go back 50 years later to revisit old memories. We made new memories upon which to build in years to come because we will definitely make this inn a yearly destination. The Tuck Inn is so welcoming, and you are made to feel right at home!

Dear Scott and Liz, We had such a great time staying at the Tuck Inn. It really felt like we were at home. We all loved the homemade breakfast everyday; it was delicious! The blueberry scones are the BEST! All of the employees were so nice and helpful. This was the best b&b we have ever stayed at. I just love Rockport and this was our first time staying in a B&B. Our next trip back to Rockport, we'll be back here. Scott, your breakfast was great. You need your own cookbook to sell. Thanks again.

Dear Liz & Scott, Keep the piano tuned - we'll be back! We enjoyed our cozy room, the wonderful food, the good company, and some new friends (even if they are misguided Red Sox fans!) P.S. If you are ever on Long Island at 10 a.m. On Sunday morning - Sound Beach Community Church - I'll be the one behind the keyboard!

Scott & Liz, Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Even though we're only an hour from home, we've felt far removed from the work & chores awaiting us back in Boston. The breakfasts were wonderful and fueled us for beautiful walks around town and at the State Park. We can't await to come back again.

Thanks for the warm & cozy nest in the middle of a quiet town & its sparkling holiday garb. The Headlands - Marmion walk was fabulous - great smells / sounds / views - the most enjoyable getaway. This place is a true gem. P. S. So great that you have a guest diary - what an amazing array of people you have hosted! You are so kind.

We came across the Tuck Inn's website when we planned our trip. We had found a lot of bed and breakfast - hotels, inns - we picked the Tuck Inn because the innkeepers seemed nice and they say that they have the best breakfast in town! Indeed!!! They (Scott & Liz) are warm and hospitable!! The breakfast?? The best we've ever had here in the U.S!! The Eagle's Nest - love it! Rockport - relaxing, picturesque. Thanks and keep up the good work! Hope to be back,

Tucked Inn...
You had some room.
so 2 nights we did spend
in the Eagle's nest
I'll now recommend

A space that's cozy
especially the shower
and flooded with sunlight
in the morning hour.

You're good with names
you never seem to forget
who's sleeping over
even thought you've just met.

You helped us see Rockport
eat lobsters and all
the treasures I've collected
are memories big and small.

Health and harmony to you.

Peace. Love, Joy. Can any one place put those things in the mix so perfectly? Apparently so. This place, from its sturdy carpet to its array of history-evoking furnishings is an open invitation to sit, relax, listen to the wind, and let the clock go by. The food wasn't just tasty, it was a series of loving gestures that went deeper than mere hunger can measure. You filled us up. Homes are places of the spirit of light - the spirit of God, and his Son Jesus Christ, are quietly, eminently visible. Because you know and obviously serve Him, He is here. It shows and even the squirrels pattering along the roof speak of His goodness in this place. May the peace in this fine home be a blessing to thousands upon thousands of days to come.

We have had a great time here in Rockport, very relaxing after a long trip. We have found the warm welcome and great breakfast here at the Tuck Inn really memorable. I'm so glad we came across your website, we had high hopes and were not disappointed. Thank you...kind regards.

Thank you for being a part of a wonderful get-away. The Tuck Inn is perfectly and conveniently located and Liz and Scott are gracious innkeepers. Our room had everything we could possibly need or want and the availability of the computer in the living room made it possible to keep in touch with those left behind. May your rooms always be as full as you wish.

We never realized what a B&B could be like with the hospitality and fun that you both so graciously provided for us. We have to return - no doubt about it! Thanks, P.S. The scones, banana bread, jams, Irish bread, apricot bread, etc. etc. Your baking was so great!!

Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful home with us. The breakfast was wonderful, your hospitality & warmth will stand out as a "highlight of our week in New England".

Very nice place to stay. All the amenities of home. Loved the pool in the hot weather. Great breakfast. The rhubarb "sass" reminded us of home. Thanks!

Dear Liz and dear Scott! The Tuck Inn was recommended to us by our neighbor in Germany, The Weitbrecht family, as a special place to experience the warmth and great hospitality of an American B&B. We were overwhelmed ourselves! The "Eagle's Nest" was a warm and cozy retreat from the rain outside. Breakfasts were a tasty delight for the whole family. Thank you for all your kindness - you were terrific hosts and we will recommend you further on to friends in Germany!

Dear Liz and Scott, Thank you so much for creating such a cozy atmosphere for Susan, Pat and I to relax, chat and enjoy our surroundings. We walked, shopped, ate...and soaked in as much of this lovely town as we were able to during our short stay. Oh - and breakfast - how wonderful! Thank you again, and I look forward to my (our) next visit here and hope "Eagle's Nest" is available.

Scott & Liz, David & I are so grateful you were able to accommodate our "last second" get-away after a very long & stressful week. What a warm and inviting place - especially at 11:00 p.m. arrival to find the light on. LoGrasso's was fantastic for dinner - I ate every bite! The room was very cozy and quiet. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Thank you for your kindness on my first trip to Rockport.

Quiet Room #5 greeted us warmly when we arrived at 2 a.m. from a long day of travel. Cozy and clean and warm and capturing, Tuck Inn was what these travelers needed. The kind and friendly hospitality was swallowed down along with the fresh muffins and baked goods - although we'll barely meet weight restrictions for our return flight home Thanks so much for just the right experience.
